We also had to use the absolutely filthy blanket that were left in the closet. My husband and I had no choice but to sleep in layers with our jackets on. The fire place was turned off starting in April so we didn’t even have that to help the problem. The temperature dropped into the lower 30’s for a couple of days and we didn’t have any heat in there for some reason. The master bedroom, bathroom and shower/tub room were absolutely freezing. It has used tips on the side of the lower bed by the wall and my son slept in the top bunk with a nice view of a years worth of dust in the fan. The bunk bed room is where the kids slept. We only used the two bedrooms upstairs since the kids wanted us close by. The movie theater has cup holder filled with old food and sticky stuff, one of the leg rests is completely broken and the DVD player did not work. The barrel near the games is covered in crumbs and clumps of food, the window sill had dozens of dead bugs all over it and the windows in the pool area look as if they haven’t been cleaned in months. We explored the house some more and noticed broom and a sticky mess on the game room floor right by the garbage can. The refrigerator had crusty dirt all over the handles, crumbs and fruit stems inside it, the dishwasher was full, the soap at the sink was just about empty and there was something all over the kitchen ceiling. Once we arrived we noticed things didn’t seem right. We booked this trip two years ago and we were so excited to finally stay in the beautiful cabin we saw in the pictures. In April we stayed at the Elk Springs Resort Copper Creek Lodge. We have stayed in several cabins and AirBNB and this is one of the filthiest ones that we have ever stayed in for our annual family reunion. This particular cabin needs a deep cleaning. Bugs in the kitchen and windows need to be clean. Some family members slept on air mattresses and sofas for comfort. Mattresses were very uncomfortable and very very hard. We didn't see it out there due to not being clean at all. Small balcony with one of the upstairs bedrooms was nasty. Big refrigerator was not clean at all upon arrival. Dusty is everywhere: on the blinds and ceiling fans ( Some members were sick due to allergies from dust) 6. Spider webs everywhere: in the kitchen and the bedrooms. It makes a loud sound and doesn't dry clothes at all. One of the bedroom sheets was not clean (upstairs bedroom on the right-hand side) 3. Here's a list of the following housekeeping issues that we experienced during our stay this past weekend: 1. These issues need to be addressed before the next guest arrives at Stairway to Heaven. If I had known about these issues I would have contacted the property management ASAP and taken pictures. We were not pleased with the way the cabin was presented when we arrived at the cabin. It came to my attention on Sunday evening since I was hosting the event that the cabin has many issues, especially with housekeeping. Would stay at this resort again, but would choose a different cabin. My family and I had a good time at Stairway to Heaven for our annual family reunion. Downstairs, the pool is not warmed enough for use in November. In the sitting area, the flat screen tv does have a noticeable white line across the bottom when in use and the bookshelf has the barcode stickers still on it. The kitchen is very modern and the appliances are nice. The bathtub was the best part of the cabin as well as the shower however the upstairs room could use some blinds to block sun and to provide some privacy. The frame of the bed consisted of wood and OSB plywood however the mattress was very comfortable. The bed sheets were very cheap and came off the bed when you sat down- for the price you pay, I would think they would provide decent sheets. You could tell housekeeping scratched the surface. There was a lot of dust- especially behind the bed. The cabin itself is not private it's located near 3 other cabins as well as a construction site. There were electrical issues however elk springs resort staff were friendly and responded in a timely manner. It was a nice cabin but not worth the amount you pay. My wife and I stayed at the urban cowboy this past week.
